Briefing
Briefing last 24 hours at the end of which you are awarded a result from one of four categories and feedback on your performance.
Structure
Briefing is held over two days and last 24 hours. Below are diagrams outlining the events on each day and a list of what each event contains.
2 min presentation to the rest of your syndicate introducing yourself.
Mental Aptitude Profiling Tests assessing cognitive ability.
A discussion within your syndicate about current affairs and general topics.
Lesson on how to conduct a Plan Ex.
40 minutes to complete a plan ex then come up with a group plan followed by questions from the syndicate leader.
A brief interview in which you're asked about your motivation, your understanding of what an officer does, and what your future plans are if you pass or fail.
Feedback to the group on the Plan Ex from the day before. Take notes.
MSFT (Bleep Test), medicine ball throw and mid-thigh pull.
Personal obstacle course.
Taught the practical skills you will need to conduct command tasks.
Group command task with no elected group leader.
Individual Debrief
Personal debrief with syndicate leader where you are given your grading.
Grading Categoroies
CATEGORY 1 – You are invited to attend the AOSB Main Board.
CATEGORY 2– You will be invited to attend AOSB Main Board after a set period of time. This length of time is determined by how long they believe you need to develop some of your weaker areas.
CATEGORY 3 – The board believes that you will fail Main Board. However, you can attend if you wish to do so.
CATEGORY 4 – Unsuitable for AOSB Main Board.
Accompanying your result is a short report on your performance with advice on what to work on before mainboard.

Structure of Briefing (Covid-19)
Due to Covid-19 the structure of briefing has changed and long with it some events have been dropped or changed. It is now conducted over 1 day, see the diagram below details the events now run.
