Start at the Beginning
A good place to start is with the Army Leader Leadership Code, British Army Doctrine that draws together and formalises elements of good leadership that have been practised instinctively or consciously for centuries and is a soldierly codification of what is known to work. The Centre for Army Leadership (CAL) also provides a section of supported documents about leadership insights.
Serve to Lead is a must read for all Officers and downloadable free of charge here.
John Adair is another great source to take a look at. He "is without doubt one of the world's foremost thinkers of leaders" who is a former Army Officer and lecturer as RMAS, his work features heavely in the army leadership doctorin.
